Jus...George, I'm not a Hick "true believer" at all. Just a realist that understands that the folks at the top of the hierarchy always fall back on plausible deniability. Part of the job description for elected official is to evade responsibility. Who took the fall at the Election Commision? The incompetent IT guy, not the incompetent executive director. Though he MIGHT be next. I'm hoping that this election fiasco might put some doubt into Hick's second term coronation, give old Gallagher a little bit of a fighting chance. The sort of thing at DEC is happening throughout the City, but we just don't hear about it. The chronic underfunding of basic repair and maintenance of parks. He's got a commission looking into this, and other things. Alas, there's nobody that directly benefits from maintaining parks. Just the odd citizen blogger, whose musings come and go and are quickly forgotten. Hick spent all his time going after Gallagher, a traditional thorn in any mayor's side, and just took his chances with the election commission. He lost the bet.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7258779.post-51618867606353681272006-11-09T19:45:00.000-07:002006-11-09T19:45:00.000-07:00Hey, Anon:

I think it's somewhat amusing the way many folks imbibe this snake oil salesman's nectar to the point of delirium. As I predicted, the Hick more or less said the problems with the DEC are, "Not my job, man," and, therefore pointed the proverbial finger at someone else. I suggest you read the series of posts related to the DEC's quagmire of an election and, incidentally, to whom I believe is ultimately responsible for the mess: your hero, John Hickenlooper.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00737901004771066039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7258779.post-2323795072651623152006-11-09T17:31:00.000-07:002006-11-09T17:31:00.000-07:00Payback whom, Doogman? Are you thinking that this ...Payback whom, Doogman? Are you thinking that this will be Hickenlooper's Iraq? Sweep him out of office next year. Not likely. Waiting in line gave folks a chance to read the ballot and study up. It allowed voters to feel that their vote was really important by giving them an opportunity to pay with their time. What's a vote worth if it takes little effort and time. Folks who came downtown early last week and voted in the City had little or reasonable waits. Easy solution: Make it all mail in ballots. Or, send everyone a number and assigned day for voting. Spread it out and eliminate the bottleneck.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7258779.post-6015863265045119842006-11-07T16:07:00.000-07:002006-11-07T16:07:00.000-07:00God Damn these incompetent assholes!
